How Do We Come Together as Individuals?

i often talk about reading my bible in the context of a relationship, because i just see so many parallels. And for me, it's unhealthy if some whone i'm dating, some one i'm married to, i lose myself in them. Instead, it's how do we come together as individuals? Your context and history, my context and history? As gadimer says, then we have to merge those horizons. But it's not in getting lost in the two. When we don't know who we are and how our history and context shapes us, we can easily start to read into the bible what isn't there.
