The word fun is used in a lot of different contexts, some of which are not even enjoyable. "True fun" occurs when we experience the confluence of three states: playfulness, connection, and flow. People tend to clench up if you suggest they be playful; there's no charades involved. The connection refers to the feeling of having had a special shared experience.
