The Importance of Empathy in Admissions
The personal score isn't about what's overcoming your history of discrimination. The personal score is about things like empathy and kindness and integrity. But some of that is looking at the essays and saying, what will this person add to our incoming class? I just completely reject the notion that you're going to have an entire racial group that is going to be systematically less kind, less empathetic, less courageous, less integrity.
