The Rise of the Internet

The first coffee shops in the 1700s became the communities the gathering place. Now of course as you say it's the global internet that is the meeting place. We're going towards a world where all eight billion people will be connected with a megabit per second. It's one giant community and I can share my ideas on the web with a thousand people who will improve on those ideas and come back to me. The rate of innovation is skyrocketing and we're in the middle of this and it's accelerating because of this.
