The Batman Theme Song

Since 1966, that theme has been parodied thousands of times and released as legitimate singles by other artists. In 1997, when David Chase was looking for some appropriate music for the opening sequence of his new HBO series about a New Jersey gangster, he heard an English group called Alabama 3's "Exile on Cold Harbor Lane" The song had menace and hinted to violence. From what I understand, Alabama 3 received a flat $40,000 for the song.
