The Welfare System Is Needlessly Complicated
The welfare system is needlessly complicated. It's extremely difficult to navigate, particularly if you are in a crises situation. I think there are three main things that are applicable for this conversation. The first is doubling of the energy bill rebate, from 200 pounds to 400 pounds. That's now non repayable. And itw'll be split over your next six m energy bills from september to that'll be 400 pounds off over six months. There's then 650 pounds that's going to anybody who receives means tested benefit. They don't need to do anything.
