Dante says the divine comedy can be likened to scripture these great works that actually change us in the reading of them and participation is a key idea here because it's not just knowledge of he's not just reporting divine life or paradises if it's a treatise. It allows us to have knowledge from within these realms of reality of experience of awareness so it's a very powerful form of participation which we do all the time anyway.
