The Paradox of Technical Writing in English

It's very counterintuitive to me that having been in departments where technical specific writing would not carry over well to actual technical subjects, right? Like, I'm trying to wrap my head around that a little bit. English in particular is its own kind of animal. It's a very different kind of technical field. There are subfields that are less self-conscious. But at the end of the day, I think it wasn't for me, honestly. And I'm glad that I found this field.
