My role was to define the next chapter of design at ibm. And so i've been doing a lot of listening and learning. You can hire the best designers in the world, but you will not get great work unless you create the conditions for their success. I'm going to be focusing our teams on a couple areas where i feel like we've got room to grow. One is around customer research. We design products for people with really specialized skill sets. They have highly complex, you knowso ated jobs. Our soft ware and products are supposed to make their jobs easier,. But we can't guess what they need. So that's huge.
