Op-vault is a proposal to use multi-sig and ephemeral keys. It would let you get rid of some of those trade-offs by having consensus rules encoded. The other thing that you can do is kind of like the way that revolve works where you have sort of a big array, like a bigmulti-sig setup. Some of those keys are controlled by computers that will just kind of auto sign on basis of certain conditions.
