The Different Types of Secularism
Secularism in its best and benign sense, definitely is about protecting religious freedom. But we all know there's other species of secularism that can be more militant or coercive. America is a place where you do have a resurgent kind of Christian nationalism in some ways. And I would argue that the Church of England, even with an established church, is probably more pluralistic than the somewhat Christianized American republic.
