Coren korean americans were furious, not just at the rioters, but at the city and its police department. Many had lost their businesses, their livelihoods, their only source of income. When the riots were over, elaine kimm interviewed female korean shopkeepers for a documentary. Some wanted to make peace with their black customers. Others were embittered or too devastated to make sense of they'd lived through. But they all identified a common villain, American government at all levels - from local to federal.
