Bayer bought Molecular Therapeutics, Incorporated. It was one of two companies set up in New Haven by Frank Ruddle and other Yale professors. They had additional high-powered academics from other institutions to advise them. The company was owned 60% by Bayer as an entree into R&D in the US.
