What Are Scenarios?
Cenareo planning is a process developed in the 19 seventies, really as a way of capturing uncertainty within the world. The point was to look at each one of these narratives and say, ok, if the future turned out to be like this, would we do? With the result that it would hilight all kinds of possibilities that weren't really very visible otherwise. And then when the oil price did fall, shell went from being a very minor player to being a super major.
