The Battle of Granica

During May, more nationalist troops would be brought north. The advance continued until May 22nd when the troops began to reach the Iron Ring set of defenses. On June 3rd, before a new round of attacks could begin, General Mola was killed in a plane crash. In attempting to marshal a defense, the Bask forces were largely demoralized and weakened from all the retreating that had happened up to this point.
