In 1983, Sue Pierce was aboard the 98-foot Arctic Dreamer when a rogue wave hit the boat and it capsized. The six crew members barely had time to put on their survival suits and issue a made-ay before the boat sank. Hathaway himself hadn't had any major accidents, but his wife, Sue, had. "Sue and Jeff's story is like something straight out of a novel or a movie," Hatfield says.
