The Importance of a Social Outreach Network
All of this failure, sinfulness, realizing that you're a small, dirty object and the accompanying humiliation in your own eyes is important. Lewis then goes on to say this is important because this is the thing that will then lead you to become a Christian. So we're not at all then liberal in the sense of saying that we're going to trust people to be self responsible and competent to run their own lives. Human beings are dependent and so our social outreach then should be a kind of mutual dependence and a mutual support network for worshiping God appropriately.
