Is Static Typing a Good Option for a VM?

The types like quote unquote versus tests thing, I have also frustrated by that. The question is just like, are the costs worth the benefits that I get? And to me, at least in the statically typed languages that I enjoy, I feel that I get a lot of benefit out of them from the perspective of there's a bunch of tests that I don't need to write and honestly probably wouldn't write anyway. So yeah, I don't think it would be reasonable to expect significant performance wins there. It's not something that I believe we would benefit from because we are running on a, on the VM where everything is like "of course"
