The Fruits of the Earth Belong to Us All, and the Earth Itself to Nobody
Rousseau: The fruits of the earth belong to us all, and the earth itself belongs to nobody. Rousseau says that as we learned to love each other, we also learned to be jealous of each other. He points out several flaws in the way that society typically pans out. But maybe the most interesting one for us to reflect on is that people living in society are constantly outside of themselves.
