The Primary System Isn't a Perfect Representation of the People

The problem with most of the time, our primary system has worked pretty well. Once you had the delegates were bound to the presidential candidate, they got elected for and really had very little wriggle room to change their minds. In congressional primaries, it's even more extreme. You have 13% to 19% of the voting age population voting in congressional primaries. It is very easy for somebody on the far right or frankly on the far left to win those primaries with very small amounts of votes.
