The New York Review of Books - Elizabeth Hardwick
Sally Kohn was asked to write a piece for the New York Review of Books about Elizabeth Hardwick, who co-founded the N.Y.R.'s book review section. She says she didn't like Kathy Curtis' biography and found 8 hours worth of tape recordings of Hardwick at the University of Kentucky's oral archives that were used in her writing. When you're wrangling so much material do you find that a structure sort of presents itself or is that something that you are you know working on through multiple drafts? "I almost always write a first draft that is non chronological and then I'm like obviously this is why did I do it any other way"
