There's still a fair amount of controversy about whether to give coloid or whether to give crystalloid. I think that given sort of the lack of clinical efficacy that's been shown without your name I think most people would get crystalloid. The reason that people with saline get an acidosis is because see the record with normal sodium chloride you could argue and say well there isn't really not really giving hydrogen so why is it that if you give sodium chloride? So what happens is by reducing the bicarp that you will get more of an acidosis as well but it's really by the reduction of the strong ion difference the sodium chloride dioxers to the effect.
