The Urban Rural Divide in Diabetes Rates
Kerala has become because of a small state and highly developed and 100% literacy rate. There is no urban rural divide. So, that is the only state where we found the rural prevalence of diabetes being the same or even higher than the urban areas. In UP, if 4.8% prevalence now becomes, let's say, 8% or 9% if it doubles, you can imagine the number of million people who will get added on to India's burden in diabetes. And then as affluence comes in, every part of India is going to get affluence. If you are not affluent, today and 5 years time India is growing so fast with the GDP growing so fast at 6
