The Fed's Plan to Bring Inflation Down to 2%

The Fed now says they want to get inflation back to 2%, which is what it was, but why not 3 or 4%? A big part of inflation is expectations. The shape of policy focused on making sure that we don't lose control of those expectations. That's obviously something that the Fed keeps a close eye on.
