The Khmer Rouge's Great Leap Forward
The Khmer Rouge may not have been aware of just how badly the Great Leap Forward had failed. The Chinese Communist Party will not have admitted this in the time before the Khmer Rouge came to power. In the eyes of the Khmer revolutionaries, any failure that the Great Leap might have had was not so much to do with the program itself. But rather, because the followers of Mao hadn't had the conviction to carry their radical views to the true logical end.
