It's an attempt, one attempt to chasten the meritocratic hubrus that the existing system of admission cultivates and exascerates. And it would also make clear to those who are not admitted that is it's a matter of luck, not a verdict on you that you are not admit. I don't think it's an adequate solution, but it's one gest one way ot of trying to shift the interpretation that we place on admission. We need to question the steep hierarchy of prestige in forms of learning that places selected four year colleges and universities at the top.
