The Hypertext Project at CERN
In 1989, Tim Berners-Lee began outlining a solution to getting information that was timely and efficient. He said hypertext is a way to link and access information of various kinds as a web of nodes. In November 1990, he submitted a proposal to CERN management for a new type of distributed information system. The program which provides access to the hypertext world we call a browser.
