The Future of Borrowing Capacity
Interest rates have significantly fallen over the last couple of decades until recently. Is that why borrowing capacity increased so much? Well, changing credit policy and the way that banks manage loans has created greater competition. I just can't see borrowing capacity really changing materially - there'll be some tinkering at the edges to either increase or slightly decrease it. But I don't think we're certainly not going to see the dramatic increase in borrowing capacity that we have seen over the last two or three decades. That's not going to repeat itself.
