The Placebo Effect
The word placebo goes back to the fourth century when Saint Jerome and his Latin translation of the Bible got to the 114th Psalm. The idea that the pop, that the lay person may have about the placebo effect is that the body has magical abilities tends to be a misconception. "It was like getting COVID in Peru. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't wonderful," says author David Perry.
