The Rain and the Dry Season

Dry is dry because it's five s and for three months of that five months, it does not rain a single drop. Most of the rainfall seep through the porous bedrock. So there's not as much surface water as you'd think. The mosaic soil patterns explain why farmers were spread out across the area,. taking advantage of the fertile earth until the rain stopped. And during the long dry period, there was only one place they could go to get clean water - the city centres owned and controlled by the divine maya kings.
