We need to look at ways in which we can have a Republican party that's a party again. This is going to take a long time. If we could snap our fingers and bring about the kinds of structural changes that Lee at least wants, it's not going to fit within our culture. All these other countries that have these kinds of systems are going through the same kind of threat from right-wing populism,. dangers of immigration that are bringing out racial divisions that haven't existed before.
