Hannabu's Way Through the Alps
The carthaginians must have known that the elephants can swim, so they may have also done it that way. Hannabu turned his attent to the next natural obstacle in his army's path - the alps. There was probably no way hannibal was ever going to go any way into italy rather than over the al Alps. But there is certainly an easier way into italia than he took.
