What's So Important About Ornithology?

Birds are so multifaceted, right? I mean, they have an important symbolic value. In one of my chapters, I talk about birdkeeping and the types of birds that were kept traditionally in Japan. And so just there's this kind of domestic ubiquity of birds in even very ordinary homes in the Tokugawa era. But then also for the aristocrats who had falcrenery, and in particular, high-ranking Daimyo would have falcons to hunt other birds.
