Adrenal Instantilloma - What Are the Take Home Points?

About 85% of adrenal instantillomas are non-functioning. The most common autonomous function is cortisol. All patients should be screened for subclinical cushions unless another diagnosis is obvious like pheochromositoma. We screen for primary aldosteroneism by measuring a morning blood test for aldosterone and renin if a patient's hypertensive or hypokalemic. If DHA sulfate is greater than 100, we don't need to do overnight tech suppression.
