How to Interpret the Gospel of John
The point of reading the Bible isn't to get the plain sense reading right. The point is actually to give people Christ, and if you don't give people Christ then it doesn't matter. Augustine says you'd rather sit under the preacher that gave you Christ, but was a really sloppy exegit.
