I suppose the one that I'm conscious of the most is when I am using it as a way to be like, Hey, don't interrupt me. Well, we give each other clues like that all the time. We won't know when someone else is done talking unless they give us clues about when they are. But if we say, um, it seems to be more of an indicator that we might need some help or people tend to take it that way because it indicates a longer delay. So sometimes people will try to fill in your blank for you.
