Nick Cage named himself after Luke Cage from Marvel Comics, aka Power Man. His pet bird Archie also lived in a cage. Not everyone was a fan of the name change and his grandmother thought he was being stupid. He met Johnny Depp while working on Valley Girl which became a box office hit.
