Oak Trees in Europe - A Story to Tell

Oaks are not able to grow up in a close canopy forest. It's too dark. They do much better in an open landscape, or something fronts called a wood pasture. The moment you remove the large herbe force from wood pastures, it ome aclose canopy forest. So there are a lot of former wood partes in europe which were declared as nature reserves and national parks. And then what happened? All the oaks disappeared. There was no regeneration oak. No regeneration oak. A forester will say an oak needs to be as a seedling with his hat in full daylight. For an oak to grow out into an adult tree, it needs space and light
