The Value of Analytical Data

Skeptics love to say the plural of anecdote is not data. We need to look at patterns, placebos and all that great stuff in order to make quantitative statements about how things work. But there's certain things that you can't study traditionally such as a randomized control trial on how people feel about being enrolled in a microbiome study. And we've also seen over the years that population level data doesn't always tell us a very clear story.
