PNES: A Rare Niche Disorder Underappreciated

A recent systematic review of epidemiological data suggested that over 350,000 Americans currently meet criteria for PNES. Anywhere from 5% to 20% of those people actually don't have epilepsy. They have not epileptic seizures. And like you said, making it as common as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's. So in fact, it's not a rare disorder. It's not niche.
