If we can learn to create a specific state at will and recall it, any state is always accessible to us. Why do we eat mindlessly? We're just trying to change the way we feel,. Which are like, we feel hungry or we feel something. And so we're reaching for something outside of ourselves to change our state. That's why people drink and why people do drugs and why people overeat. If you can alter your state without needing anything outside of yourself, you're a master of your self.
