The Back Eye by Donatarte
The cult is a novelistic imagining of could we actually try to re enact some vesion of that. It wouldn't necessarily just be about er taking drugs or getting drunk, but about trying to get to a state of oneness with the god - whatever that means. I would have iked to talk a little bit more about the theatrical impact,. because euripides is a master ofr as aristotle said, of tragic emotions ofer pity and fear. You certainly feel in a good production of the back eye a very considerable amount of terror about what's going to happen. We don't have no idea how that was represented physically, within the limitations of the ancient theatre.
