There's a paper called uncleftish beholding, trying to explain atomic theory in only words with english etymologies. Another really great example of this is english, sky scraper. Hum because those trepots, sky and scraper get literally translated across a range of languages. There're also sometimes people do sort of experiments with trying to undo lone words. But i imagine quite a bit of mental gymnastics to read.
