The Advantages of Permanent Equity With a Long Horizon

Longer term horizon is more aligned with the traditional founder owner type person. Most folks who own a small to medium sized business are passionate about solving this problem in the market. They're not thinking about how do I maximize my multiples so I can flip this thing to private equity, five years from now. That's not the mentality. And again, going back to it, they aren't thinking about their business as an investment. They're thinking about it as a way to get paid and paid a lot. It's fine to be motivated by money, but to do something that they really enjoy and that they're passionate about isn't enough.
