The Components of a Hurricane

A mature hurricane has these components in place. The eye is the center of the storm once it's strong enough to have an eye wall, meaning that there is a circle of strong thunderstorms wrapping around that center. And then as you go away from that location, that's where you see what we call rain bands - which also can produce hazards like heavy rainfall.
