The Book of Tobit is a prayer to the God of Israel. In it, Jews are asked to pray for their country and its people. The prayers include: "Do not punish me for my unwitting offenses committed before you" It also says that if they disobey your commandments in any way, 'they shall eat the fruit of their deeds'
