Bob Greene: I want my kids to be perfect spiritually, morally. And as preachers kids, you know, sometimes preachers kids go south. When one of my boys was a teenager and told me that he kind of ratted on my son and told me he'd broken a family rule. He said, Dad, I am so sorry. Please, Dad, forgive me. Bob Greene: Strange thing though, Kent and Lawson, I don't know that I've ever felt closer to my son than I did at that moment. You know, just the pressures that a father unintentionally can put on their kids.

When kids see dad embrace their mom and treat her with dignity, it provides an unparalleled sense of security and stability in their lives. As the leader of our homes, we dads must be that godly example for our children every day.
