The initial vision was, let's help companies get funded. After establishing itself as a news letter and web page, angelists grew into a verticalized social network. The company tinkered with different ways to surface this information in the years that followed. Not all of tests worked. When i asked ravicant about some of angelist’s mistakes, he responded, oh, we have so many of them. I would argue that it's just been a large set of failures along the way. Still, some landed today.
