If you choose not to talk it out, you act it out. The way i show up differently becomes an issue for you to make judgments about. You start seeing joseph avoiding you, talking behind your back and excluding you from important meetings. We become co conspirators. We begin to collude in the worsening of the problem but are blind to our role in doing so. There is always a chance that somebody's on a bad day, or they choose to use their power against you and punish you for the rest of eternity. It tends to happen far less often if people know how to approach these situations skilfully well.
Are there high-stakes conversations in your life that you need to have but are putting off?
This week I welcome special guest Joseph Grenny, one of the authors of the bestselling book, Crucial Conversations.
In this episode, we talk about:
- Why silence is the most significant communication error we make
- The cost of not speaking up
- How to make it safe to talk about almost anything with almost anyone
Joseph's insight and experience will help you have better conversations about what matters most with those who matter most.
