Christie pulls up the veil and really just tells us straight out what's going on here. After Mary makes her choice, after she chooses wisely, we see the angels true colors. Lucifer is quote, quivering with pride in rage. He's furious that a foolish, ignorant woman should resist him. And he looks forward to tempting that baby when that baby is grown into a man.
